was coming off the highway and i saw my rpms drop to zero and "trac off" light came on, car still ran fine, rpms didnt come back so i pulled off and turned the car off, checked uner the hood didnt see anything wrong, started the car and the tach was working again. is this a just a freak thing or should i look into it? anyone ever have this problem? oh and my aeroforce was able to read the rpm's when the tach was dead

Sometimes a few of us 04+ guys have something similar happen. We can have all of our gauges go dead and my aeroforce just flasses the LEDs. After a couple of restarts it is back to normal. I am thinking yours is going something similar.

uh completely forgot the aeroforce reads codes, im throwing p0336, it has to do with the crackshaft positioning sensor?

i saw people not being able to start their car with this code but mine runs fine right now (knock on wood)

i have been having intermitten long starts the past 2 weeks, maybe this is why? i wasnt throwing a code til today though

The tach dropping to 0 RPM's and the low traction light coming on are telltale signs of a bad crank position sensor.
