Have any of you ever raced a car on a Oval racetrack? If not then go to one and findout how long til your motor burns up. Thankyou.

All I have to say about limiter removal without supporting mods.

No thanks, I don't like rebuilding motors. In the middle of doing one right now since the previous owner didn't care about checking her oil and more than likely ran the car with low oil  Top shell rod bearings were toast. Oval/Circle tracking is boring to me anyway since all you do is turn left. I prefer road courses like Mid Ohio Sports Car Course :thumbleft:

To answer Rob's question, taking long turns fast causes the oil to all go to one side of the pan (I believe the oil pick up is towards the drivers side of the pan on a 3800 so if you're turning left the oil will be going away to the opposite side of the pan than where the pickup is). The problem is more likely on long fast flat track turns than banked turns since the angle helps lessen the lateral load. Extended running with no oil going into the pump resulting in complete starvation or low oil pressure, will cause wear on parts like crankshaft main bearings, rod bearings, cam, lifters, everything! Yes, you might not have problems unless you are really running balls out, but why risk it. Did you even check the oil level before hitting the track? What if you were low? Then oiling problems would have become even more likely.

Again, just trying to save some engines, because to me, fun at the track << engine rebuilds

I actually came across this pic. 15 seconds of zero oil pressure... Bye bye main bearing
