So I took my '00 GP GT in for some warranty work and they did a safety inspection on it. I was told that the LIM gasket was leaking as well as the valve cover gaskets. I was wondering if I would be able to throw on a LIM from a L67 and a S/C with the heads I have on now?

No, you cant just "throw on" an L67 LIM and S/C and go. The heads are not the only problem standing in your way, BELIEVE me. In fact, the heads are the least of your worries. There is a plethora of other parts you have to buy in order to even allow to supercharger work correctly and not blow your motor to pieces. You can still keep the same heads if you become supercharged but you will have to take it easy on the boost because your engine will still have the high compression of an N/A motor but with the boost of an S/C. If you do things safely and wisely your car can handle that setup, just TAKE IT EASY ON THE BOOST. Meaning: don't go and port out the S/C and LIM and try to force more into the engine after you get tired of your low boost setup on high compression motor. Although porting can create more HP, it will also create more boost since the process creates a smoother surface and allows more air to move more smoothly. Therefore more boost. Bad for a high compression motor(have i stated that 8 different times already or is it just my imagination  ) The only way I know of to lower the compression in the L36/L26 3800 is to swap out the N/A pistons for lower compression S/C pistons. Therefore, the heads dont really have much to do with it, its really more about the pistons inside the motor. Now, as for your LIM and gasket problem...unless you really have your heart set on doing a top swap and upgrading to a S/C, putting on a L67 LIM and S/C just to fix a gasket leak problem is kind of like pissing on a house fire....theres not much point, it wont fix the problem, and may cause you more problems than when you started. The way a L67 LIM is designed it does not match up in any way to the UIM of an L36/L26 3800, and as im sure you can guess the gaskets do not match up either. You could remove your current LIM as well as your UIM, then put on an L67 LIM and the S/C..... as well as buy a new PCM, pullies, coil pack relocation bracket, L67 fuel rail....the list goen on and on. So, you see, not a very cost effective fix for your problem. Im sure you figured since you'd have that stuff off to replace the gaskets anyway you might as well just upgrade your motor, but it's not nearly as simple as it seems. sorry to say

You can't use your heads at all. The L36 has the injector bosses in the LIM. The L67 has them in the heads. There is a lot to doing the "top swap." Worth it, but not easy.

K, thanks for clearing that up Joe. I wasnt sure, nor do I have the desire to find out anytime soon. OP, Listen to this guy^ Ive heard the Top Swap is fun, but some guys still arent happy even after a top swap and end up going turbo anyway.....its just up to you but it would make a lot more sense to just replace the gaskets that are giving you problems. Since your valve cover gaskets are leaking anyway, why not just do a 1.9 roller rocker upgrade? It would give you a lil more HP, it's just bolt on and go, and would cost a LOT less than a top swap would in the end. Would be a lot easier on your motor and trans than a S/C would, too....just a suggestion

Yeah, now would be the time to do roller rockers, HV3 insert, possibly upgrade to the L26 UIM, and possibly do some P&P work. Grab a 180* thermostat while you're at it.

Yea, I was told today that the trans needs to be rebuilt for 1800-2100. So I may just upgrade to a L32.

wow, sorry to hear that man. I know it must suck. But for that price you could probably find an L32 AND HD tranny as well from Ed Morad, and take care of all your problems at once.

Haha yea, I was thinking the same thing as soon as he told me the news. Thing its 2200 for it. I might go with a zzp HD trans, PnP LIM, 1.9 Rockers, and a turbo. What do you guys think would be better or easier.

Now I need to decide what I wanna do, here are the options.
Should I:
- buy a new trans from zzp (4T65E HD) for 1999.99 then turbo
- rebuild mine (4T65E) for 1800-2100 then top swap and upgrade to HD
- rebuild mine (4T65E) for 1800-2100 then turbo and upgrade to HD
- buy a GXP LS4 w/ trans from morad (54K mi) for 2069.99
- buy an 04 L32 w/ trans from morad (85K) for 1979.99
- buy an L67 w/ trans from morad (92K) for 1394.99
