Please forgive me if someone has already asked this question but I am curious as to the maximum power and torque anyone has been able to squeeze out of a series 3/L26 doing every mod/tune to the car possible but keeping the engine naturally aspirated.

With the right combo, you should be able to get it upwards of 300HP, and a similiar torque number. Would take a lot of money, time, and effort to get it there, though.

The most I've heard of was a zzp car it put down 270ish whp and ran high 12s. But it also was stroked to a 4.1.

That would help the torque, but not likely the horsepower. And, 270WHP would be 330-340HP, so yeah....

And weight reduction wouldn't hurt either

Neither of those increase horsepower or torque, though./

If using nitrous, would it still count as NA, or would that be considered boosted?

Nah I don't think using Nitrous would be cheating but that would be something I would do if I wanted to go to the next level. But judging by the positive posts I've read so far it makes me wonder why GM just didn't give the engine more kick to begin with.

It would be very cool if I could get close to 300HP/Torque out of my 08 GP/L26 yet keep that classic N/A sound. Not worried about cost because it would be done in baby steps and I'm in no rush.

Thanks guys

Nitrous is a power adder, and consequently not allowed. If you're building all engine, you dont' use nitrous. I hate that shit anyways.

better off boosting turbo or top swap. having an OHV engine would be great for high displacement v8's but not for mid displaced v6. i think GM should've made the GP with the new 3.9 VVT v6 that they use now back in 2001 so that aftermarket companies would already have mods built for it. and the 3.9 cones with 245 bhp stock compared to 200.

U can actually build your own turbo kit piece by piece through zzp they sell there z3, z7, and stattama kits DP Crossover and waste purch seperatley if u wanted to build your own. you could run it at low boost 4-6 psi until u get intercooled later. the z3 piping is $580 and u can collect everything else piece by piece like a top swap.
