Don't think of a fwi as trying to gain power, think of it more of a stepping stone to other mods that will all add up to a very noticeable difference.

Ditto, and more noise  It's more of a butt dyno mod. The extra engine noise and S/C whine make it seem faster, but the gains are quite minimal, however, it will help later on down the road when more mods are thrown into the mix.

i knew you weren't sc'd since whats in this section anyways

however it will be a placebo mod. your intake will sound louder and coupled with an exhaust you will feel the power increase

on my truck that is heavily modded up until the point of a cam, i noticed the intake and exhaust only until after i had a tune done. then it went from a truck made only to tow, to a truck that will eat tires and damn near drift within 5 mins w/ power tuner

Haha, I don't read sections anymore. I play fast and loose with my posting

I love the way intakes sound on a N/A 3800 though. Sounds like a hurricane under the hood especially on open loop operation.

I'll have to make a video/sound clip of the one on the girlfriend's car. It seriously just sounds nuts. Makes a ton of noise as soon as you get on it, quiets down at about 3k-5k, then makes the coolest whistling noise as soon as you start to let off.

I hate those engines with a passion but they sound quite nice.

With the airbox off on a 3800, the intake is like a vaccum cleaner.
