Ok i was buying 3m rubbing stuff for headlights at auto zone and i was offered cause it was on sale. some "magic" fluid that you poor in your gas tank taht supposidly greases your cylinders to make them last longer or something. is there any truth in this. I didnt buy it cause it sounded like a good way to shorten the life of my engine.

My dad told me once that if there was such thing as "magic in a can," then him and his friends would have been cured years ago :) The only additive I put in my gas tank is seafoam.

You talking about that Restore stuff? Looks like it comes in a can? I'm interested in this too.

I use Restore 6 cylinder formula in the Volvo...which is a four cylinder. I do like it. I have picked up fuel mileage, and I can swear that I've picked up a couple horsepower. I haven't done before and after compression tests, though. You're supposed to use it every oil change...and I have been lately. I do like it.

My dad has some of this for his 67 Camaro, seems to work alright.

If you are concerned about a product, get the name of it, read reviews and compare the ingrediants to other formulas. There are a lot of products out there just to fool people, like that nos bottled whatever it is...

Also keep in mind that most parts store employees don't get paid commission.
