So I just installed the ported rear manifold and ZZP Powerlog. I'm also doing the EGR delete and just have a couple questions:
1) I took out the EGR assembly and am installing the block off plates on the intake and exhaust manifolds. My main question is, with that assembly gone, do I still need this other electric canister sensor thing? (the canister that the metal tube with the rubber hose-ends plugs into). 2) And if I dont need that, then do I still need the air pump that pumps air into it? (the round pump just below and to the left of the air-box. just seems like a lot of EGR nonsense to me. Thanks in advance, and heres a pic of the first part im talking about.

wow only other car i ever saw that on was the 01 and it was a ULEV calli emissions car

yeah all the crap is not needed but it does not hert performance only times it runs is at cold idle to help with NOx and unburnt fuel. basicly it helps the cat converter ignite quicker and after it cose into closed loop it shuts off and does nothing

I knew I lived too close to cali (Las Vegas) to avoid its retarded stock modifications. So taking both these things off shouldn't mess with the emissions too much should it? I should still pass smog right?

you will NOT pass with out a EGR both visualy and sniffer. you might pass with out the AIR pump (air injected reaction) but they will probably go off of the vin that saiys it needs to be there and will fail visual for that as well
