Ok guys tomorrow I should be putting the car on a dyno rack as part of a half price dyno day. place your bets as to what you think i will achieve.
info:
62k and change on the clock
synthetic oil changes religiously every 3k for the past 20k miles (since i have owned it)
trans filter and fluid changed at 50k miles
Spectre cone air filter on pvc air intake tube with stock baffled maf censor set up
dual exhaust Thrush turbo mufflers
16 inch stock rims dunlop direzza tires 220x 60 R
3.8 L N/A v6 L26
Radiator flushed at 60k miles
35 psi tire pressure
0-60 clocked with stop watch 7.3 seconds
1/4 mile in 16.3 with a RT of 1.33 (sad I know was my first time)
any more info needed let me know.

Lets see who can guess my max HP and TQ ratings before their read.

I think I'm pretty good at guessing random numbers so here's mine.

179 hp
188 tq

That's a totally random guess based on absolutely nothing.

Motor seems to be pretty well taken care of from what you've said so crank hp should be pretty close to the factory rated number. Assuming the transmission isn't slipping, expect approximately 20% driveline loss from the automatic (manuals have less driveline loss) since I know you're not running a trans brake or manual valve bodies.

I'm going to guess 162hp, 189tq at the wheels. That's assuming there is no slippage in the tranny and all that is in good shape.

I was close on the hp lol. Seems like a tad more driveline loss than I was expecting.

200 crank hp and 230 torque for the Series III IIRC. That, coupled with a 20% driveline loss that is typical for automatics, is what I based my estimate off of.

Tom that's 30%+ driveline loss. That seems a little high to me. 20-25% is typical for automatics.

When I had mine dyno'd the guy told me the for FWD auto's its around 27 percent loss.

I wish I could find someone who has dyno'd a stock 3800 on a stand. Then we could find out what we actually lose through the drivetrain.

@25% driveline loss

150whp, 172.5wtq

speedballs results 154whp/179wtq

sounds about right to me

Wow I didn't realize the FWD automatics had a much greater driveline loss than RWD autos. Holy crap.

think about it the power has to do a 180* turn and then split

with a RWD it goes straight back then splits

also 4x4s and AWD are close to a 40% loss
