Hello GPONA. First off I'd like to thank this forum for helping me with all of the little problems my car has had. I noticed coolant leaking into the area between the valve cover and the upper intake.

Would you think that this gasket is what I might need to solve the problem?

If you think that it would be that gasket would the DIY for the HV3 insert be all I need to know to install the gasket?

I'm not sure if it matters but I have an 04 GP GT.

Yup, LIM gasket. No, the HV3 only deals with the UIM gasket, which should also be changed at the same time as the LIM gasket in my opinion.
You'll also need to do the 2 coolant elbows that go into the tensionor bracket and it's advisable to replace the fuel injector orings (at least the lower ones that go into the LIM if you don't remove the injectors from the rail), valve cover gaskets, and thermostat while you're at it. Also, now would be a perfect time to switch to another coolant other than dexcool.

Also, it's cheaper to get everything from ShopGMParts.com. I got the aluminum ACDelco gaskets (the one like you posted from zzp) for 13 dollars less than zzp.

If you go into the service manual ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Document ID: 914998 shows you UIM DIY and Document ID: 915006 shows you LIM DIY. It's a pretty easy job, just takes some time to do.

go on advanceauto.com and shop for what you want and when you get to the check click pick up at nearest store and find one then put either p20 or a123 for a discount code alot cheaper and you get them now and dont have to wait to get them shipped

Too bad advance's stuff is more expensive...
Advance Auto Series III 3800 Gaskets Page
75 for metal Felpro LIM gaksets (which do come with 6 lower injector orings though), 62 for Felpro UIM gasket. How's that cheaper? $42+19+9bucks shipping < $75+62. You can get everything, both intake gaskets, VC gaskets, orings, tstat shipped (rather quickly too) from ShopGMParts for the price of just the LIM and UIM gasket at AAP and still might have some money leftover.

When I just did this job a couple months ago, I priced everything out at AAP WITH Kyle's 20% off discount and it was still cheaper to get everything from shopgmparts. The only thing I did get from AAP was the elbows since they were like 4 bucks in the Help! section and I couldn't find them on shopgm's site.

I'm not trying to promote that particular site or anything since I have nothing to gain from it, I just am simply stating that they are cheaper and actually sell OEM parts, and still cheaper than AAP even when taking advantage of Kyle's employee discount, which I happen to do quite often  I love that store, don't get me wrong, but I also like saving money.

So still more expensive by 13 dollars  I'm just breaking your balls. Don't take it seriously. I actually typed that all out right before I walked out the door to go to AAP to pick up some shocks and plugs/wires

And oh boy Trey here we go. Haha, the first time I ordered intake mani gaskets I got them from ZZP and they were ACDelco ones, the only thing that ticked me off is that they didn't include the endcap gasket and the old one leaked after everything was back together, so I just RTVed it and it's been fine since. But if ZZP would have included that endcap gasket like Felpro and the ACDelco is supposed to (it came with it when I've ordered gaskets from shopgm) I wouldn't have had to take the crossover off and fix the leak.

LRDB04, just let us know if you have any questions with the install, what you need, etc. Unfortunately, LIM gasket changes are something way too many of us are familiar with. Darn you GM for using plastic/nylon LIM gaskets and dexcool!!!!!!!!!

The only thing I haven't been able to locate is the sealer and thread lock compound. I looked on advanced and can't seem to find them.
