180 does not make you car faster it keeps your motor a little cooler. Maybe a tiny bit faster from running cooler

it can also help reduce KR when tuning. Like redgpgt said, it makes the coolant run through and cool off your engine at a lower temperature than the OEM thermostat(which is 210* i think) which keeps your engine running a lil cooler. These engines HATE heat, causes all kindsa knock and other issues

I don't think it would void your warranty, but I'm not positive

^they wouldn't even notice at the dealership, so I wouldn't worry about it voiding your warranty. Only way they could know was if it were to set off a SES/CEL and tstats don't do that until you get a 160*

Just thought I'd share the How-to for anyone that wants to see how easy it is to do.
And I just picked 1 up at my local auto parts store for a couple bucks. Just said what car I had and that i wanted a 180 degree and they had them in stock.

Just whatever comes out, top it back off, and bleed the system.

When I did, with Kyle_99_GTP's help since he knows what's going on with these cars, we just pulled off the thermostat housing which of course dripped some coolant, intalled the thermostat, put some coolant into the radiator cap, and bleed the air off. So in all it only lost maybe a couple ounces of coolant. No need to drain/flush the entire system just to replace the tstat, but then again we all know about the awesomeness of Dex-cool....

You techinally won't feel the difference, but you will be able to pull more timing since there there will be less KR, but would it be a noticable difference... not really.

Unless you're tuned for it you're not really going to notice any difference. Have the fan turn on point set to 185* instead of the stock 195 or whatever it's set at.

DON'T USE IT!

The only reason you should run a drilled 160* is if you live somewhere where the temp sits around 100* during the summer and doesn't really go below 75*

You don't want coolant running through your system before the car reaches operating temperature. If you live where it's cold and have a drilled 160* your car is going to take much longer to warm up and it can also cause other issues.

ZZP should definitely replace it with what you actually ordered. Get on them about it and you should be able to get a replacement pretty quick. Don't call them, go though email. ZZP is infamous for not answering the phone.
