"Upgrade yor 3100 or 3400 engine with this 3500 "top swap" conversion. This kit comes with everything you need for the job including the 3500 cylinder heads (with options for our Stage 1 and Stage 2 portwork and valvetrain), ported 3500 lower intake, ported 3400 upper intake (or newer 3100 large port upper intake), and all the AC Delco gaskets and parts you need for the job."

This is from mms.com , the reason for my question was to see if I read it right cause if so I can get parts and p&p for cheaper.

i would just port your exicsting heads. unless you want to bore out your 3100 by .020 you can not use 3500 heads.

Ok so I talked to Mike Miller from MMS.com and he said, "I just sold a Stage 2 3500 top swap to a guy with a 3100 along with some 3500 headgaskets so everything will fit right. I can't say that it's optimal, but it will fit."

So here is what i am looking for, an SE has 175 stock hp and a GT has 200 stock hp. I am looking to equal a GT/200hp so what would get me there?

Nevermind I found the setup that will get me where I want to be.

Manta Part is still in business but ordering is kind of a PITA. They have mass amounts of J- and N-Body stuff.

nope the 3400 has ever so slightly larger intake valves. (no gain whe switching over to them)

bigger by 3mm i believe.

the way everyone is talking it sounds like the best idea might be to get a 3400 and bore/port/polish it and add the 3500 uim, lim, and heads. (ported and polished of course) but if you were to do all of that it might be cheaper to squeeze a 3800 in there.
