i have a question. I own a 01 Pontiac Grand Prix SE, with a 3.1 L V-6(everything stock  ). Whats even worse is my front end is going to hell, I hear this grinding noise(my ABS and traction off light are both on,would it be from the hub sensor or could it be brakes/rotors?), I'm not sure what it is,but it sound like it's coming from the right front side. Then fans are blowing on high, why is that(yes,A/C off)? If any1 could help, I'd be thankful, I just dont have the $$ to be coming out of my pocket right now, I rather do it myself,if i knew the problems and parts needed

sounds like the wheel barring is bad

i agree on the wheel bearing. to be sure on what side is bad...jack the car up. grab the tire at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions and try to wiggle the tire...if the tire has play then that is your bad side.

as far as the fan being on high all the time, it is a bad blower motor resistor. this is a very common problem in the '97-'03 GP's. The fan has a constant 12V current going to it, the resistor just stops the motor from running. when they first begin to go bad, your lower fan settings will stop working, until they all do...which i presume you experienced?

sorry for the misunderstanding, i thought you meant the blower motor fan. i would check the fan relay. it is in the fuse box under the hood. that would be my first guess.

If you click on the GM Service Manual link at the top, then do a Number search for Document ID# 708565 (Cooling Fan Always On 3.1L) it will walk you through it step by step. ;-)
