For your 3.1L of Fury. I recommend chambered mufflers, but not F/M. Maybe Summit brand welded.

I think it needs to be a little bit a of a deeper tone, but I don't know if you can really get that much deeper out of that engine.

I might to be late to this thread, but I have a Flowmaster super40 on my 1997 Malibu with the 3100. It sounds pretty good for the size engine.

Here a video with a clip of the sounds and some drive by of the car. Your aslo hearing the the cone filter as well in the brive by clips. You can laugh all you want about the 3100 but its been good to me except for the leaky LIM gaskets.

I have 2 mufflers though...I wonder how much of a difference that will make.

Thanks, I did have some what of a rasp when I first installed but the sound has gotten alot better over time. I also have a Borla intercooled tip that beleive it or not toned the exhaust note just enough to make it sound better. im not sure on dual mufflers but I would think it would sound pretty good if you upgraded to a real good toned Muffler.

I can't wait to do my GP exhaust I think im going with the Flowmaster Super44 for that.
