I think a 3400 with a 2.8 crank and high compression with a turbo in the Volvo would be good...

My mom's old 92 LE 4 door and my 92 Cutty Supreme 4 door (same color and trim levels even...) both had 3.1 MPFIs in them. That was a few years before even the mighty leaker known as the 3100 was out...

Will be 112,000 in a couple of weeks on this lowly 2003 3100 SFI. Sounds like a tap-dancing troop under the hood at cold start-up, but otherwise it still runs like a champ. I've decided to keep this car as a winter beater when I get a new car in a few years (G8!) so I might drop in a 3800 to get another decade or so out of it.

The first generation had the 3.1L Multiport, while the second generation had the 3100 SFI. The third generation (I'm talking W-body generations of course) had the Series III 3800 as the base motor.

my first gp had a 3100 a gold 4 98 se with the hog nose.. man i loved that car.. got it with 75k drove the piss out of it, only thing i ever had to do (aside from tuneups ect.) was water pump once.. ran just as good when traded in at 185k for a 34k 03 gtp.. then me and the ex split up and she kept the 03 and i got my 97 gt about 6 months later, less than 1 year after getting it it went from stock 16.6 car to 13.9, and will be getting faster in about 2 weeks with the help of a trans that wont slip, a better cai, and headers

so after 3 gp's guess you could say i love them

94 Grand Prix SE,
267xxx KM's on it, still runs fine, still purrs... Dropped a K&N Air Filter not too long ago, made it perform far better than when I aquired it and sounds beefier too!
