The 99+ GA did come with a 3400. The 3400 in the GA was simply an overbored 3100 IIRC.

As an owner of a 2000 GAGT let me set the record straight...

1)- the 3400 in the grand am is the 3400SFI- a standard pushrod motor no PITA DOHC here. this motor actually lends itself to turbocharging better than supercharging (that last part is according to my mechanic who really does know his sh!t so I believe what he says)and is a decent powerplant that just happens to be a little tougher to get extra power out of than the 3800. But bot milzy over at milzys motorsports and my mechanic who has significant drag racing experience have told me that it is possible to get 650 street legal HP out of the 3400SFI assuming everything is done to it with no expense spared. (bored, ported, polished, turbo cam, twin turbo, 5 speed tranny swap, etc)

2)- There was a prototype GA with an eaton M62 supercharger built and shown but nothing ever came of it.It was labeled the SC/T. This is how the SC/T label became associated with the last couple of years of Grand Am GT's, Mainly because of the consumer's demand for the spoiler and hood off of that prototype which people called "SC/T hood" and "SC/T spoiler" since they could think of no better was to label them when talking about these pieces in public. magnuson sold those same Eaton kits for a short time and once they were gone that was it so nowadays those things are like gold. Trust me I'm looking for one.

There is a guy near me who has an Alero with that kit on it. Definitely an interesting car.

When I had my 3100 I was looking at a supercharger for it.

Heres a pic of the kit I found.
