I have a 96 "i think" GTP with a 3.4 in it. My brother ran the tranny dry. He filled it up now its stuck in 1st gear. Any one have any ideas whats wrong. I have heard maybe the clutches are locked up now. Anyways, i might replace the tranny. What is the code for it? Is it a 4T60E? or 4T65E? It was noit supercharged but i think dohc.

Thanks, Kyle

Yeah, that's a 4T60-E. The only engine to spin a 4T65E was the 3800.

4t60E is the trans for that motor and if the trans was ran dry your better off replacing it. You could attempt a rebuild but if the trans was ran dry and your locked up in first there may be more damage to that trans then you want to deal with.
