So that's what it sounds like from outside of the car.. LOL

I have done that maybe a half dozen times with my setup. When it's fully open it's unbearably loud inside the cabin (teeth shattering). Sounds pretty neat none the less!

Haha yeah it is crazy loud inside the cabin at WOT. I had one of the rubber hangers off the cat back by the passenger rear tire and with that off it made the air bag light turn on at WOT. With it hooked back up its much less raspy and no air bag light lol.

why would the air bag light come on with a hanger dettached? That doesn't sound safe hahaha.

I love the sound. It's that sound that scares the hell out of ricers that try to play. It's like turbo spool or supercharger whine, you don't have to be fast, just sound fast =P

The light was coming on because the sound from the exhaust was causing the car to vibrate so much. By hooking that one hanger on it dampened all of that vibration. Crazy what a little rubber can do ;) haha

Suppose to put it before the cat, so it's 100% not restricted.

Is there a performance difference when the Cut out is open in place of a cat? Positive or negetive on a N/A car?

Useless without a turbo. You're paying for a sound and worse fuel economy.

I made 10whp more in the top end on a dyno with mine open. Probably wouldn't do much NA though.

With my buddies n/a 99 we can feel a difference. So since you're allowing more flow you may feel a difference depending what you have done to the car.

Im jsut curious if im gona hit the throttle and loose all my low end torque. Cause Part of this is so that when My friends and I want to be loud in a group we can. Currently im like whispering with a Diesel ford with 4inch exhaust and a 4.6 mustang with streight pipes xpipe and loudmouths.

Dave when did we become non friends? O.o

And you may loose a little low end but that's why you're able to close it :)

I may be wrong, but I remember seeing kits that control the cutout so it only opens at certain rpm. That way you keep your low end and still have the free flow at high revs without actively having to opening and closing it.

Derek you know mines louder ;)

Anyways... I have the 99 btw. I did feel a difference in performance. It honestly depends where the cutout is located in the pipe. Up top at wot you feel it nicely.

I think you may be thinking of a boost activated cutout.

I'm sure there are electric ones that come with the loud switch you want.
