You just want a rocker switch so you can turn your EQ and Amp on via the remote wire? If that's the case, then no. Run your REM wire from the Headunit, to the POWER section of the rocker, and then your REM wire from the ACC to your amp/eq. Ground is ground. You don't want to hook 12v to your amp's remote (yes, it will work, but not recommended, as it only requires something like 4v...)

IF you're using a stock headunit, then you have no option ( I think ) but to use a constant 12V source, in which case your image would be correct.

0o0oh that's right. Yeah, you would need to use a 12v source, and your image would be correct.

do you have drl's?

you could make a relay harness so that the eq turns on when the drl's / headlights are on

He is basically saying connect it to something that turns on when the car turns on. Then there would always be power to the EQ when the car is turned on, but it would turn off automatically when the car is off.

Find something that gets power when the car is turned on. Take the wire and get power from that. Run that for the power to your EQ or whatever else you need. Simple as that really.

So you don't have a radio at all right? So you could use the power wire from that if you wanted and the ground too really since they will turn off/on at the right times. it has been awhile since I have replaced my headunit in the GP. My aftermarket unit has been good for a couple years, but I know the red and yellow both are something with power, unless the car differed a lot from my unit. Maybe someone else can chime in. I can try looking into it after work too.

If you use an aftermarket radio harness the red wire is usually keyed power (on when in ACC or ON)

Red is keyed so in that case run red as remote tp amp? no switch?
