OK guys this is gonna be hard to explain so bear with me....

When I'm driving slower about (30-45) and just barely push the gas the rpms go up to around 2000 and then drop to 1500 and the engine starts making a wierd noise. It's kinda like a old V8 clicky sound. The car keeps making power and speeding up though. If I step on the gas just a little more the RPMs jump and it sounds fine again.

Does it have a fluttering sound just as you basrely press down on the accelerator? Can you locate the location of the noise in the engine compartment? and does it only occur when in drive? or when you are parked revving the engine?

I can't tell where it's coming from, it only does it when I'm driving. Though I hear the sound almost all the time. It's really loud and acts wierd like above when I'm driving slow.

It sounds like valvetrain to me. Does the clicking noise have a rotating-like feel to it like a gattling gun, for example?

Pretty sure its NOT suspension.

Almost positive its the engine or trans making the sound.

theres a couple of us experiencing that noise. I first noticed it when i put my intake in, then it got louder after the header and exhaust install. i think its normal? maybe a lifter?

Ok I did notice it after I put on my fwi. Maybe it is something normal but just not noticeable with the stock filter setup.

I was thinking about putting it back on to see.
But why the drop in RPMs?

Hello again,

Go and look at a few videos that a few of us took on our vehicles highlighting some "engine noise" after CAI or FWI install. (see link below). In my video, you can hear some "fluttering" before the SC really kicks in and another one sounds like "rocks" . Blackwood's video sound like pure SC power. :)

See if any of those sounds like what you are experiencing.

Hope it helps.

Well I put the stock airbox and filter back on and WOW what a differance in sound. I forgot how loud the FWI was. With the stock box there is very little sound to even tell its suppercharged.

Anyway, with the stock box on, the sound dissapeared so thats good/normal FWI sound I guess. But the rpm drop is still there just not as bad of a drop and not as long as it was with the FWI. I guess this is normal too so when I put the FWI back on I'll see if it happens again.

That is normal, it is the torque converter locking up. The stock air box is like a muffler is supresses alot of the engine noises, that is why when you put the FWI on you can hear it.
