I guess for those with VVME that will work. What size Cap are you talking?

My only other concern when you do things like this fix is that it could cause trouble down the line in the electrical system. I'm a firm believer that little fixes for these kinds of problems may cause more problems.

I personally wouldn't mess around with it and just order the HIDGATE ones that don't need anything else to work properly.

MY 2 cents.

Im using a 35V 4700uf capacitor, you always want to use a cap thats a minimum of double the voltage you plan to use it with, the "uf" is microfarad and is the capacity the cap can hold, at a minimum you would want a 24V 2300uf cap but if you can find one a little bigger like the one I am using, it will just hold a liitle bit more charge to ensure that relay coil stays fully latched regardless of how much or how long the fluctuation from the trigger wire is. If your concerned about causing problems in your electrical system, I don't blame you, I am the same way when modifying my electrical system. That's why I also mentionned for an extra dollar of safety adding the diode inline with the positive on the cap, I did it on my wiring. A diode only lets current flow one direction so that a cap discharge spike cannot travel back up your stock wiring harness and will have nowhere else to travel but to the ground causing no harm.

Oh really?!!!!! I did not know that....gee I wonder why everyone praises HIDGate HID's and people never usually have problems with their HID's .... ... with a cap in their harmess its guaranteed the ballast will always get the power it requires (unless you have a charging system/battery issue)

or a bcm that looks for power dropage and over compensates and frys relays

Sorry Im not sure what your implying here, incomplete reply? :???: Our BCM's have that feature programmed into them to look for power dropage? Ive never heard such thing for our cars...I do know that the BCM in the late 06+ with DRL in Lo's already supplies fluctuating voltage to headlamp when in DRL mode...

Even if that's something that could happen, its better to fry a 3$ relay than a ballast...

I know you drive a ram but I thought you still had your GP and were mentionning a feature of a GP bcm...after all this is a GP board so features about a dodge bcm are irrelavent if our cars don't have the feature, hehe

Your local electronics shop should carry those (or order online), just ask them for the above mentionned cap and a diode to be used in a 12V car application on a circuit with <=10A or whatever the headlamp fuse is. For about 12$ CDN (10$USD) I got 2 caps and a pack of 5 diodes.
