has anyone opened a 04+ gauge cluster with any luck???

I would like to swap all the lights in the gauges over to Red LED's, but from experience... some GM gauge clusters dont take to this very well

The aftermarket gauge faces on PFYC come with a special tool for removing the needles, so if i could get my hands on one that might help. just wanted to check if anyone else has done it already

That is kinda funny.. I don't understand what he wants to do with the lights either.. Maybe he meant to swap it to something other THAN red. None the less, here's what to expect.

Interesting question.
What is he planning to put in there?

the red LEDs will be brighter through the red filter then white LEDs through the red filter. thats why tail light LEDs are red even when the lens is also red

I took mine apart to put in the colored gauges. I'm pretty sure unless you can solder surface mount LED's this is impossible.

The right is stupid bright already. I always had mine dimmed.
Anyway, I'd like to see pics when it's all said and done.
