Yup, I still never heard from them on a decision yet...usually they are quick to jump especially when they are paying for a daily rental and all.

If they total it I think I would get either a GXP or a GMC Acadia or a Silverado. Still unsure at the moment really.

This grand prix has been giving me backfiring problems for a while now where If i let off the gas before it shifts into second it will backfire. Mine is the only one it does it with. Converter is good, fuel pressure is good, Engine went bad and replaced it with a complete engine with only 20k on it and it still does it. It's a mystery to me.

Finally got the car all fixed, I had the rental for only 47 days...Had to fight to use OEM bumpers and exhaust, plus it took them a good while to even make a repair or total decision.

Got the rear end collision repair which consisted of a New bumper cover including shock absorber, new lower valance painted body color, new exhaust, Allignment, Left taillight and trunk lid repair.

Also got the front end from the hit and run repaired at the same time, New Hood, New front Bumper, New front valance painted body color, new fender, New Mirror, new vent visors, door and rocker panel repaired, new headlight, new front bumper support assembly.

The shop did a very good job at restoring it and have no issues at all, Im not sure if i mentioned the hit and run in this thread or posted pics but that other thread is here;

04-08-grand-prix-discussion-f19/photoshop-needed-suspect-license-plate-blurry-t25535.html?hilit=suspect

As for the other Car, the Grand AM that got busted up...I seen it driving the other day with the same plate number and all (Plates here follow vehicle and not owner). Theres no way the insurance would have repaired an 01 grand am so im guesing he only had liability and fixed it himself. All the previously damaged body panels had been replaced and painted with rattle cans. I wouldnt want to see what it looks like under the panels...

Heres some pics of after repair.

Looks nice. Glad you're still in the game with us. 47 days is an eternity to get something like that fixed up. Since you only got one new taillight, how does it compare to the old one? When I had a collision with a deer a few years back, I got one new headlight, and of course the other old one looks terrible next to it.

The rear tailight matches extremely well and would never even tell the difference, but the front headlight is a different story.
The replacement taillight is made by eagle eyes.

The passenger one has the usual wear and peeling going on but I may just buy a new one from that side as well.

In this province each insurance caompanies pay's your own damage, and if your not at fault your company recovers the deductable fro the other guys company but nothing more...your rates remain unaffected.

However in the case of the hit and run it's still a not at fault, however since they havent found the guy or vehicle yet a deductable of 500 was due, so I bought the left headlight aftermarket for 100 bucks locally and basicaly sold the headlight and another part to the body shop in exchange for no 500 deductable.

I kept the old hood (only has a slight nick and bend) as well so im sure I could get a few bucks for that and just buy another light for a 100 bucks again.
