LOL... there was a guy on one of the forums (possibly here) out west in Canada who had a set and was using JB Weld to mold/extend them as they are short otherwise...

If you go through the appearance threads here there is a pretty good chance you will find it...

If you just need roof-cargo capacity, I bought a roof rack set from Thule for the '04 GP. If you go to their website, it'll tell you all the parts you need (there's a extra piece needed because of the slope of the rear roof pillar). I had a similar set on my '98 Malibu, and it made that car look better, IMO. The GP though, doesn't really look like it should have a roof rack. I just put it on and take it off as needed, usually if we're taking the kayaks out, or more recently to get a Xmas tree.

Sorry I don't have a picture.

Wow, had no idea that's what "roof rails" meant, because I'm pretty sure that it's also synonymous with "roof rack", on at least front to back part on the roof rack.

On top of that, I'm even more puzzled at why one would want those "roof rails".

they where rare and simulate the roof wind vains on nascars as they where first made for the 2000 Grand Prix nascar daytona pacecar repilcas. then in 2001 GM used them on the special editions and agian in 2002 on the 40th aniversury package.

personaly i think there ok not worth the $200+ they tend to go for but supply and demand

i agree with mater that they are much to pricy, but they are a "cool" factor that most cars dont have, that helps to set your ride apart. i will have some one day but i will not pay the normal price. i will get them from a local yard or trade and barter for them..

and here is an example of them in one of their factory configurations.

So If I posted in a 04+ section about roof rails on a 04, why are people posting picts of them on 97-03's. We all know what they look like. Hell I have them on my 01. So stop posting picts of a stock car. I asked for picts of 04+ cause the search failed me.

Flip, thanks, Ill search his name.

That's right, now I know what "roof rails" are. You learn something everyday. Having now learned what roof rails actually are, I'm glad I have a "roof rack" instead :).
