I don't wanna hijack this thread but where did everyone buy their set?

CARiD.com $280.75 (S/H included)
360tuners.com $290.98 (S/H included)

.... now these will be shipped to Toronto so s/h is higher but after reading about the websites they all have bad reviews.

Instead of H1 bulbs what about H3, H3 is slightly shorter than H1.

Now to figure out what colour, black or chrome.... any suggestions?

http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_ima ... _large.jpg <-- I kinda got a chrome thing going, but I got black tails, lol.

Do chrome. You car looks nice with the lights behind the grils. I want to do something similar to that on my GXP.

What size of bulb is your HID light, I tried to put an H1 in but it's too wide to fit.

To fit the H1 in you have to very slightly shave some metal off the opening, with a drill. Do so carefully. H1 is still too long and will touch the cutoff plate, so maybe try H3 like you said. You are going to be very disappointed with the light output though, i warn you...

Will an H3 fit or would that be too wide and I'd need to still shave? I don't wanna keep buying HID kits and returning them, lol,

.... off topic, but, is your halo green or is that a bulb?

I have never seen an H3 bulb, but if its the same width and just shorter it will work. I would highly recommend just buying some morimoto minis and retrofitting your projectors. My halos are about 5/8 ths green and 3/8ths orange, i changed those out when i retrofitted them. Im gonna upload the pics i took today, think i got a better pic of them :P

edit: and yes, to fit the H1 bulb, just a very very little bit has to be shaved for it to slide in, or at least on mine i had to :S I just took a drill and very carefully drilled it out a bit bigger.

I'm don't wanna pry my projectors apart and risk it, lol

I might try to drill a wider hole, but knowing my luck I'll get shavings stuck in the projector.

All you have to do is slightly tilt it towards you and only pull towards you that will keep any shavings out of the projecter. A few shavings wont hurt anything. It only needs a little bit shaved off its only a few millimeters off. I also had to cut part of my h1 bulb plastic cause the hole was on the oppisite side lol.

Well, the plastic on the bulb should not actually have to be cut, the bulb return wire should actually face straight down not to the side. I thought the wire went to the side at first too, but then i took a closer look and found out it goes down. You will probably find that the bulb doesnt slide all the way in, so you might want to fab up some thin spacers like was shown in this thread... :P

Yea I guess they just put the return wire in the wrong spot which forced us to snip the plastic a bit. My bulb made it in just fine after shaving it.

H3 is meant for fog lights, not headlights. Do not put an h3 bulb in your h1 housings, the light pattern will be garbage.

Honesty, the light pattern can't get any more garbage with the projectors in there... :P They were not made for HID's to start with...

Agreed lol. Theres lots of dark and bright valleys in the light output. One day I will retrofit some nice ones in there. When I have the money and the time. They look great on the car, just not as great when looking down the road lol. They are not that bad as for driving so I don't think its enough of a bad output to not purchase them.

Where did you get those yellow LEDs at? I got one out and want to replace them so I'll need a blue (white) one.

Well, the LED's are actually orange and green but the camera can't pick them up. They are just 194 wedge style LED's off ebay, they come in all colors. They are very simple to swap out, just pull on the rubber behind them and they pop out. As for retrofitting a projector, get the Morimoto mini's. They fit prety good and its a night and day difference compared to the old projectors in there.

The wire hanging off of them is to activate the solenoid which turns the high beams on. Bi-xeonon simply means low and high beam in one. H1 is probably what you want, so you can use an H1 HID bulb. D2s uses a different type of bulbs. Yeah, its well worth it for just 120, you will not be disappointed.

So do you have the solenoid hooked up? would be sweet to have 4 highbeams lol. Also did the projectors come out further in the front or just in the back?
