and an old output picture without adjustments

sorry guys, that output IMO is not acceptable, your way better off with the OEM reflector and HIDs

Im sure that little hot spot can't be any worse at blinding people than sticking with the stock reflectors that send glare in every direction...I mean either way (stock with HID's or spyder projector's with HID's) you will be sending off light to oncoming traffic and somewhat blinding them so the real question is "how is the output on the ground compared to stock?".

Holy hell is the rotation of the projectors off. People are going to be blinded when you come up along side of them. Looks like we are going to have to make new cut off shields.

Oh I agree but I bet the HIDs with reflector is probably better output on the ground then the Ebay Projectors

but I've also given up the battle of telling people that HID's in Reflector housings is Illegal. People are gonna do what people are gonna do.

Those Halo rings aren't that great either. This could be a good platform for a retrofit though.

He hadn't adjusted them yet. Yeah they need new cutoff shields a bowl for the projector.

I wonder if they use spacers on the bowl and bulb would it put out more light and focus it a little better?

Just received mine in the mail today and saw the pics with the hot spot problem. One would think Spyderauto would have solved that problem unless they couldn't locate another projector bulb that would fit without having to do some custom fabbing. Thoughts?

do the projection headlamps come with instructions on how to make adjustments to the lamps if needed. If someone who has them maybe could write something up when they have time with pics to show how to adjust them if needed.

Again SPyder Auto is just a distributor. The actual manufacturer is out of Japan. Didnt know the adjustment screw would take care of rotation of the projector. Thought it would be more for up and down adjustment. Never seen it before. Have seen where you could adjust left to right and up and down. Im half tempted to buy a set to tear em open, and play around with them.

But that would be my guess would be to make spacers and shim the bulb back towards the back of the headlight, and see if changes the focus of the light. Or to play around with the cut off plate itself.

Where is that hotspot coming from and what is with those rings?

I agree and that's what I always envisioned with the anticipation that these projectors would fail.

I wonder if the Morimoto Minis would fit: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/produc ... cts_id=221

From some research, I guess the rings come from the shitty lens, which can apparently be changed out: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/index.php?cPath=29

And the hotspot comes from the light being unfocused?

I was just reading through the return policy and they will not take them back in the seller does not like them. Too bad the problem is that they are a safety hazard to oncoming traffic so I wonder how long the return policy will hold up. I like the things but if they are going to compromise the safety of others ability to see the road, they need to fix the problem.

Is this a problem with the lens or the position of the bulb inside of the projector itself? Whoever has installed these needs to adjust the depth inside of the bulb to see if it improves...
Good find on the link for the lenses.

I would have to mess around with them if it's coming from the actually ring easiest way to find that out is to run the lights without the rings I'm comptemplating if I want to return them or not.

unless the output gets better and they fix the "blinding people" issue I won't be buying... looking at them again they do seem pretty ricey... That's just my humble opinion.
