I have been speaking with the company that I bought mine from and gave them a complete description of problems that we are finding. I am sending them back tomorrow and they will be testing the headlamps before they either replace or give me my money back. I also received this email from Retrofit Source when I asked them about modifying our OEM lights. They didn't mention the Morimoto Mini's but I am sure you can put them in our stock headlights with little modification.

Hey Roger
Thanks for the inquiry and for your patience waiting on a reply over the weekend - We have actually helped quite a few newer Grand Prix owners upgrade their headlights with a set of xenon or bi-xenon projectors, so I am already familiar with what will work well and what won't. To start, you can go with either a set of bi-xenon projectors (low/high beam) or a set of single xenon projectors to use alongside the original halogen high beams.

In the past, customers who wanted bi-xenons have gone with a variant of our FX-R stage 3 kit which has worked well - so I'll recommend the same to you including the following specific components:

FX-R bi-xenon projectors (low/high beam)
Morimoto 35w Digital ballasts w/ brackets
Morimoto 4300K/5000K/6000K D2S bulbs
Bi-xenon relay wire harness
$300 shipped

Alternatively, if you want to go with something a bit more simple and slightly easier to install, I recommend the same kit but with Lexus RX projectors instead:

Lexus RX-AFS/TSX-R hybrid clear lens projectors
Morimoto 35w Digital ballasts w/ brackets
Morimoto 4300K/5000K/6000K D2S bulbs
Relay wire harness
$335 shipped

To help you make your selection on the shrouds, bulbs and ballasts, I recommend taking a look through each category's specific listings on our website at: http://store.theretrofitsource.com/

The bi-xenon kit is built around our FX-R bi-xenon projectors, which were designed specifically for the purpose of a custom headlight retrofit. They have been extremely popular for their amazing performance (really wide, uniformly lit, bright beam pattern with a great looking cutoff line) and relatively compact, easy to mount design. The RX projectors in the 2nd kit are also known for their easy mount-ability and great low beam performance. They're basically the little brother to the infamous Honda S2K projectors, offering 95% of the performance at less than half the cost. Both options will offer a considerably better output than the aftermarket projectors using the H1 bulbs you were talking about, so the beam will be uniformly lit, with no glare.

If your a DIY kinda guy, you should have no problem doing this upgrade. We have had lots of first time retrofitters do the conversion on their Grand Prix housings with the information we'll provide to help you do the install on your application.

If there are any other questions or if you would like to order, feel free to ask and we'll be happy to help. You can simply reply to this email, or give us a call at 614-653-3451. We can accept custom quoted orders either online via PayPal custom invoice, or over the phone with a credit card.

Thanks again Roger!

Matt @ TRS

Do you think they're honestly worth it? Do you think it's worth it to space them, aim them and figure it all out? I want to see some on a black grand prix before I make my final decision if I should get them or not.

They seem like that are well made sealed up fine etc. I'm still undecided if I want to keep em and work on them or go ahead and return them and count some of the money as a loss. Im waiting on a few other mainly the projectors guys on here to crack them open and work there magic rather that's ordering better projectors and halo rings. and btw in the other projector are here thread on one of those pages someone photoshopped them on a black gp looked good.

Thanks Red Comp and Pascalc!

Could you give me the original picture as well Pascalc? Kind of get a side by side? (Also if you could PM me about your tail lights and how you did them so because I'm about to do mine as well)

Appreciate it you guys.

Also, where did you purchase the lights from? I have like 4 different EBAY sellers but I think they're all ran by the same guy.

I'm kind of retarded Pascal haha I went into your garage and photoshopped the pictures together.

I think the original headlights look better but maybe it's because the other set was taken under perfect conditions.

It's not about looking good, it's about looking unique. I'm worried about the light output but I think that it can be adjusted and with my HIDs adjusted accordingly it will be great. Pretty sure I would be the only GP here with these lights if I were to get them!

Haha is there any reason why you did that Rick? You have a point though, who needs light output when you tint your headlights!

If anyone is interested, I have been talk to Matt at Retrofit and here is a side by side comparison of the H1 Morimoto Mini's compared to the FX-R's. You may need to create an account to view this but if you all ready have the ballasts and bulbs, this should be a relatively cheap conversion. I would just recommend painting the relectors black when doing this. Enjoy.

So Roger are you sending your back and then retrofitting the stockers or jus going to replace the projectors without a better set.

Hmmm that's actually really cool. So you can mount these in our stock low beams (9006) and on the high beams (9005) correct? Do you have anymore info or where we could possibly pick a couple of these up?

Seems like it's worth the try plus the output is very nice!

I all ready sent mine back, I liked the housing but the black plastic that they used to construct the headlamps bothered me a lot when I attempted to separate it from the clear plastic lens. My intent is to buy a new set of stock OEM headlamps and do the conversion on those. I will keep my old ones, sand them down and use the DIY instructions on here to bring them back to life since the clearcoat is failing on them. I should be able to do everything for $300 or less considering I already have the HID's.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't do a bixenon setup with these considering the light output is that good but the halogen high beams on my car provide plenty of light and I don't want to have to be continually buying ballasts since I don't use highs all that often anyway.

Just type in Morimoto Minis on ebay and you can find a set of projectors for pretty cheap.

Majority of the Morimoto Minis on ebay are sold from The Retrofit Source.

There is a seller on ebay that is selling them for $120 and it isn't the retrofit source.
