The one that bothers me the most but perhaps not as noticeable is the rear suspension. I had a lot of rattling and knocking noise in the rear so I replaced the struts with Monroe struts and mounts myself. That seemed to take care of the noise a little. Then I replaced both of the sway bar end links which pretty much eliminated all the noise other than an occasional rattle which I have yet to figure out. But a few weeks later the slight knocking sound that I had before reappeared. Its sounds similar when the end links were shot. I hear it the most when I drive over bumps backing out of the drive way in reverse. Then I barely if at all hear it while driving. I do want to note that when I replaced my struts tightening the strut nut was a royal pain in the arss. If I would known that it helps to have the expensive impossible to find special tool to hold the strut rod while torquing the nut I not sure I would do it again without an impact. I should of gotten a impact wrench and zipped it on quick but instead I made my own tool which kind of worked but I'm not really sure if I got it tight to the torque spec. So I'm not sure if that would cause the noise I'm hearing or not. I'm not sure if its possibility for noise or not, but because of the design of the strut top washer, it contacts the mount without resting much on surrounding the rubber nubs. I know anti pogo washers would correct this but should they really be necessary without being a lowered car? Other possible thoughts for the rear end noise were sway bar bushings? Trailing arm bushings? Any other ideas? The sway bar bushings do squeak but would they really cause the knocking I'm hearing if they were bad?

Other minor noises I have are squeaking somewhere along the steering shaft when I turn the wheel. Sounds like rubber on metal. Any idea where I should look to lubricate it?

Lastly and most vaguely I hear a knocking noise on the passenger side of the vehicle, can't tell if its the frame of the vehicle flexing near the sun roof or where the passenger seat belt is or possibly the rear passenger door?

Thanks for reading though the long detailed descriptions. I appreciate any input!

I have the same or similar noise reversing out of my driveway, over the curb when the car is cold.
I do know my passenger side trailing arm is bent marginally.
Did you replace the sway bar end links on all 4 wheels?
Did you grab all suspension joints and shake/wiggle for looseness?
Depending on the mileage, bushings on the swaybar and trailing arms may not be a bad idea.
You could disassemble, clean, lightly apply lithium grease to the stress points, then reassemble if they aren't in discard condition.
Personally, I don't even mind all the noises. Because racecar.

In regards to the noise in the rear when going over bumps, this happened on one of our 04s and might be what you have (or might not). It's a 5 minute thing to check, so why not.

Looking at the parking brake cable, after it splits to go to each wheel, the cable that goes to the rear passenger wheel passes into/through a bracket near the wheel. The cable was not secured tightly in this bracket, and bounced around in there a lot when going over bumps, producing what is best described as a "clank" noise. I simply wrapped electrical tape around the cable and bracket to keep the cable from bouncing around in there. Noise gone (unless it's a nasty bump).

Note: If you have the parking brake on, the cable will be tight. Make sure to check it (safely) with the parking brake off.

Well I replaced on the rear struts and rear sway bar links a few weeks ago. The front is still reasonable quite and tight. I decided I'm going to replace the trailing arms with the ones found @ the widebody store for $50, Stock trailing arms look are looking flimsy and rusty. And I'm thinking about GMPP rear sway bar kit as oppose to just replacing the bushings with stock. I know most of you have been happy with the GMPP sway bar. goldcamj - good call on the parking brake cable, I'll have to check that out.I hope that solves the clanking sound I had going over hard bumps! Now to get rid of slight knocking... I'll try torquing the strut rod nut again this weekend to make sure that isn't loose.

I had the same issue with the noise in the back. As goldcamj says, it turned out to be the parking brake cable fitting. Changed it
out and noise gone. Good luck.
