Question for the best Grand Prix forum, I need new struts and springs in my 04' anyways so I'm going to lower it at the same time. Not sure as to what lowering springs and struts I should go with? Any advice and pictures would be awesome!! Please give good detail because I want to do the best deal on good lowering springs and struts.

Thanks guys and girls!! You're the best at questions like these.

First off going to link you to ^ a lot of helpful info. As far as struts go you have a few options....you can go with Kyb Gr2 or Kyb Agx. Difference between the two are the price and the adjustability. For a set of 4 Gr2 will cost you around $250ish vs Agx (4) Cost around $500-550ish. The Gr2 are stiffer springs but you can use lowering springs with them. The Agx are adj. so you can choose how soft/hard of a ride you want (no homo). The Gr2 to run on a 04 are direct replacement...the Agx on the other hand to get them to work on a 04 you would need a front sway bar from a 97-03 Grand Prix as well as a set of 97-03 lower control arms. There's also a option to run some Comp G FE3 struts..this are GM struts that are found on the 04/05 Comp G equipped Grand Prixs. There fine with lowering springs cost around $400-450ish. GM part #88955413/88955411 or GM Billstein FE4 struts that come on Grand Prix GXP yes they will fit non GXP grand Prix....this bad boys are what you want if you want comfort. They ride smoother as opposed the other springs I mentioned about. Difference is they around $1000ish for a set of 4 and will actually raise the car up a bit. Not a a strut I will recommend unless you have money to blow.

Those are just a example of where to find them...you can go to any other sites that support Wbody and find them.

As far as springs go...popular are SSC or Dna springs which are a SSC knock off version. Ill link it below. Both will drop the car around 1.7" and are both quality springs I've had both SSC until I sold them as well as whats currently on my car DNA springs. Ignore the whole 97-03 thing...they will with 04+ without any issue..ebay is just retarded and doesn't realize that. Can't go wrong with either one...won't mention other springs since the first link really covers it.

then there is the anti pogo washers, engine/transmission spacers, cutting dog bones
if you don't use those then your car is going to be wearing out other components faster then you should be

Only thing that's recommended is pogo washer to be installed (goes on top of strut mount) and vinnie spacers...raises trans and engine up to proper height preventing a lot of wear associated when lowered. Spacers take a hour to install very simple.

4 hrs nooo! The fronts are easy the rears are a bit difficult. Took about a day to do it..it's straight forward problem you'll have is getting the 2 bolts that hold the strut to control arm have knocked out and requires a big ass hammer or mini sledge :) and you constantly be he hitting it out sometimes you may have to use some pb blaster to help. Once thats done fronts are a breeze of course it'll take you more time if you have to remove the spring from the strut etc. The rears are the same it's just a pain to get the strut mounts to line up with holes (look in trunk youll see wht I mean).

If it was me having to do it again I would install the spacers the first day and knock out the fronts and then the next day knock out the rears and you won't be getting way over your head doing it all the same day.

Yeah give yourself more than 4 hours and remember, as with all car work, anything that could go wrong will go wrong. My coilover install (something that should take a legit 5 hours of less) took 4 days
As Matt said the top 3 bolts on each strut are easy (back's are easy if you have a ratcheting box wrench, not so easy if you're using a socket wrench of regular open ended wrench). The 2 bolts to the spindle usually suck since they are splined and have to be smacked out once the nut is removed.
