Clunking noises are just part of owning a W body.
My girlfriends ford focus has double the miles of my car and drives like a dream, super jealous.

Hey Guys,
New to the site  . Great site by the way ;-) . The insight has been so helpful when working on my car. By the way, I have a 04 Comp G. Great car. I love it. It's got a lot of potential. I'm responding to this string because I've had similar problems in the past and right now. I've had the struts and mounts replaced recently and I still have a lot of noise in the front end. The noise reminds of your problem. So, I was at the repair shop this past weekend to have them check on the struts and mounts. The driver side mount makes a noise (rubber rubbing) when the wheel is turned at low speeds. Anyway, they, of course, said they couldn't hear the noise. Who knows, maybe it's all in my head. Well, they said the front wheel bearing was bad. I noticed a lot of movement in the tire last weekend when I had it in the air. So, I bought the hub assembly today and will be installing it this weekend. I believe this will fix my problem and it might be the same problem you're having. Just chiming in trying to help out. I'll try to get some pix up in the near future. I'm at work right now and I hardly ever use the home computer for anything.

Me again. I replaced the hub assembly. WOW! what a difference that made. The front end is noise free from clunking and popping.
