My car is running extremely lean and is starting to stumble on heavy excelleration. Not sure if that could be a lower intake gasket problem or not. The 04's already come with the aluminum gaskets.

First, what do I look for to check if this is the problem?
Second, what all will I need to do the job? I've been looking for a kit, but all I've found was the gaskets for the lower intake only. I haven't found something that includes the supercharger gasket and whatever else I might need.

The 04's still have the plastic ones actually. 05+ got the aluminum ones. Have coolant puddled up around the LIM/fuel injector bosses?

Im in the middle of doing this now, and for parts you will need:
- Aluminum LIM Gasket
- Supercharger gasket
- Both coolant elbows
- fuel injector o-rings, 12 of them
- rtv, either copper or black
- supercharger to lim coolant o-rings
- medium strength threadlocker
- optionaly a throttle body gasket
- optionaly valve cover gaskets and grommets (do them while your there)
- some type of gasket scraper such as razor blades
- lots of paper towels and brake cleaner
- coolant
- possibly an oil change if you get coolant or debris where it shouldn't be
-

Haven't seen any coolant. I read on one of the parts websites that the 04's had the aluminum. Guess they were wrong.

Thanks for the list. I saw all those things, just not in one place. Wasn't sure exactly what i needed.

Just changed my t-stat. Wires were done the last time I changed the plugs. Was planning on doing the plugs again already.

There was a thread a while ago discussing if the 04's had aluminum or not, but it seemed that all the 04 owners had plastic including my old 04. Not a bad idea to look at yours though and see what you have but if it's like all the other 04's I've read about or seen, it still has the crappy plastic ones, in which case, if you're at 220k you're overdue

Both of our 04s had plastic gaskets. That parts/materials list above looks complete. Might want to add throttle body cleaner to clean out the TB while you've got the thing apart if it's a sooty mess.

If you haven't done it before, take notes on the order you take it apart.....makes it easier to put back together. Also, the Service Manual has the torque specs for the upper (supercharger to LIM) and lower intake bolts, but make sure to note the units. Putting my wife's N/A motor back together, I almost made the mistake of torquing the upper bolts way too high because the manual gives it in in x lbs and at a glance I read ft x lbs.

Found my problem and it only cost me $7.00 and and 1 minute of my time. The Wizaired intake duct between the MAF and throttle body has been looking pretty bad for awhile. I patched it up some time back, but after being taken off when they fixed the transmission, it was really bad. I knew that it had to be leaking, but I didn't think it was leaking that much. Well come to find out, it was my whole problem. My new one came in yesterday and after swapping them out, my LTFT's went from +17.6 at idle back to -3 at idle which is where I tuned it to years ago. Also, WOT locks in at 0. The car seems very happy now.

The old one.

I love when $hit works out like this. Once in a while we get lucky. Great score!
