I am gettin so pissed off, Ive had my car off the road for about two months and its been in my driveway with bald tires and what I thought was need for an alignment, so I get 2 new tires, then it starts to give me some vibration in the front which makes me angry, so today I go get an alignment (which was impossible to find a place to do it cause its lowered) and I have them rebalance all four tires to take away that play I was feeling. When I pay and leave I feel no difference! What the hell!? Now I looked at the sheet and I have -1.0 on my drivers side camber and -1.6 on the passenger, that is literally the only thing I can think is causing my pull, so Ive decided to get new struts, but I need to know what kind I should get and where to get them from, any help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys

KYB GR2s from pretty much anywhere. Or if you want to waste more money on adjustable struts that don't last as long, there's always the KYB AGXs.

As far as I've seen, the GR2s are the best strut for lowering a W-body, in terms of cost and longevity.

What about the CompG struts? They aren't much more than GR2's and from what I've heard work rather well with a lowering spring.

GR2 or Comp G's are fine..GR2 are a bit stiffer then comp g's main difference us price $250 vs $450ish. Agx will work with 04 but you would have to run 97-03 lower control arms and there sway bar.

Look into the BMR lateral arms- It'll help with the alignments and try to find a performance shop for the alignments.

Ummm.....I think that the CompG's are stiffer than the GR2s by a long shot. GR2s are not "sport struts" by any means. They (GR2s) are much less expensive, as stated; they're good for the money. I tend to buy from RockAuto. They have reasonable prices and they ship fairly promptly.

Yes, in fact there is a 04 in my garage with CompGs, and a 04 in my garage with GR2s. Not even close. The GR2-equipped car rides like an old Buick compared to the CompG. I'm not saying the the GR2s are bad struts, they just aren't nearly as stiff as the CompGs. GR2s are comparable to FE2 struts.

How many miles? Reason I say this is i've had my Comp since around 30k and have one of my biddies that replaced his a few months ago w/ GR2 and GR2 seem stiffer but it could also factory in different strut mounts etc as well tires/lowered etc but I would much rather spend less money and go the Gr2 routes especially considering you have to piece together all the smalls stuff like mounts etc.

I replaced them on both cars ~15 months/20K miles ago (They were both around 75-80K miles when I replaced them). New mounts, kept the old factory springs.

The CompG car is in fact a factory CompG car, so it has the CompG sway bars. The other is a GT2 with an added GMPP rear sway bar and front and rear strut tower braces. Both cars have UMI rear trailing arms.

Camber really shouldn't cause noticeable pull, especially not .6*. What were the toe numbers?. However, if you want to get your camber correct on both sides, you need to provide the shop with camber bolts. Also, those shops who denied you are pretty lame since a lot of cars are lower from factory than you are, no offense on that by the way. Just an FYI, some Porsche, Audi, BMW dealerships have the ability to do alignments and have pits instead of racks so you could be slammed and it wouldn't be an issue. The dealerships around here are the same price as chain tire places for a 4 wheel alignment. So if you get in a pickle again, you could try to contact those places and see what they could do for you.

That helps, I never thought of those other dealerships, and thats why I was getting so frustrated, my cars not slammed and Im getting denied everywhere, but Ill take a look at the paper and check the toe, but I dont remember noticing anything out of the ordinary there, but Ill check it out and post up when I get some more info
