2008 GP, is there any way of programing key fob other than dealer, my battery holder broke and i got it solderd now it dont work, put new battery in, is there any steps to take as it was working before it broke, is there a sink of getting it to work or did it lose program cause battery holder broke off, thanks

On the inside of the fob it says when you replace the battery to point it at the car and press lock and unlock at the same time for like 7 seconds I think. But if it need to be reprogrammed then that can only be done at a dealer.

In my neighborhood in NY, there's a guy who drives around in a Mercedes step-van
and he has all the equipment needed to make keys and program fobs right in the back.
Recently, I got two keys and two fobs for my wife's Ford and one key, one fob for
the GTP. IIRC, the entire bill was about a buck and a quarter.

If you're near NY, I can give you his number. If not, look for a guy like him near you.

It's legit business, BTW. Licensed... name and number on the truck, etc.
