Well after a short hiatus I'm back and have some ideas :) I just aquired a winter beater so my engine rebuild will begin soon. I'm going to tear down to the block and hopefully find nothing wrong with the pistons. Then I will replace all gaskets and rebuild the heads with new pushrods, springs, and lifters. A new timing set is in the works as well. I'm also going to recondition the supercharger and change all sensors that need it. The trans is also getting an overhaul, I have a friend who is a builder so I will just pay him to do that part. Now...should I cam or not. I have 1.9 rockers and would possibly like to cam it. I will also be using new injectors. Basically I want to have a reliable beast when I'm done. Any suggestions?

i would go cam since your tearin her down any how, however i do believe that you won't be able to run the 1.9s wit it, believe i read somewhere that it would end badly, so i'd def look into that bit, headers if you don't already have em, and an intercooler for sure, would be my suggestions :P

You can't run 1.9s on a cam. And I agree, intercooler! Find someone close to you with hp tuners and tune the crap out of it. You can still get a lot with rockers.

Oh, I know you can't use the 1.9's with a cam. I saved my stockers. I was just considering saving the 1.9 and not going "too" extreme with it :) I'm considering a cam but I don't know about intercooler. Thats a maybe.

I currently have TOG headers, 1.9 rockers, 3.5 pulley, overkill tune

Hopefully the rebuild goes well. I would go with a cam since you're going to be almost all the way there anyway, and you can replace the timing chain at the same time, which I would do on any depth rebuild.
