so ive been looking at GP's and am striking out with a GTP model....so my question is about the GT's....i havent driven one but probably will soon since i cant find a GTP but i was wondering what kind of pick up they have? i know its obviously not going to be as fast as the GTP but can it get out of its own way?

mine moves decent, like u said it's no gtp, but it'll hold its own against most other v6s, if you have doubt i'd buy a 98-03 gt, then top swap it and have even more giddy-up than a gtp :P but that's just my suggestion

I have a L36 Monte and it definitely has more pickup than most other V6s.

Every GT that I've seen at the track has run 16 flat every time. So there is definitely more than a car length difference between a GT and a GTP. Last time I ran another car that ran a 16 second 1/4 mile, it looked like they were only half way down the track when I hit the traps.

Yeah I don't have near the passing power in my current Monte that I had in my 04 that I used to have. At some point I'll either topswap the Monte or do an LS4 swap. First I'll have to beef up the trans though (if I do the top swap. LS4 of course will require a different trans)

I ran high 14's pretty much bone stock in mine, but then again mine is supercharged stock.

But yeah OP look for an 06 or 07 GT and you get a gen V set up stock.

I have an 04 GT2, and after a lot of work, and little bit of modding here and there, I can say it picks up a good bit compared to most other v6 cars I see out there.

When my GTP was stock I used to just slaughter GT's. There is more than a car lengths difference.

Guess I can't really remember that then cuz after all the mods I could keep up with the GTP or be a little quicker ;) Never took the GP to the track after the head and rocker swap either.

You don't count. Your car is not really a GT. It's a GTP that got it's true badge taken away because of some stupid decision by some marketing idiot.

the N/A cars are not bad. i perfer them for intown driving becuase fo the gearing makes them feel faster. the supercharged cars are slow as balls and are gutlass untill they get in to boost

the merc feels faster then the GTP becuase fo this

I completely agree, even though I debadged my gtp I left the Supercharged part of the badge on the trunk because it was only on the car in 04 and 05. GTP just sounds better in my opinion and used far less than "gt"

The first one looks like a Comp G or at least has most of the options. 5 button DIC, HUD, tap-shift, leather...
I like the look of the second one better thought. No offense to the guys that have them, but I just don't like silver cars. The black one is much sexier.

Completely agree with you on which one looks better....silver is one of my least favorite colors on a car
