So I redid my CAI, put a brand new filter, new piping, and ran it into the fender....where ALL the other kits go, except mine is homemade. Now when I romp on it, I bounce off my rev limiter and my tranny wont shift till I let off and stomp it again. When im in park I can run it up to 45k rmp and itll sputter and miss. It made the supercharger alot louder and I can keep it engafed now when I rev it up, as before when I revved it to "show off", you could only hear it for a second. WTF guys? The only thing that changed is I went from a 4" pipe and giant cone to a 3 1/2" pipe and smaller cone and put it in the fender.

Any SES codes pop up... Could be an issue with the MAF sensor being dirty or maybe a trans problem.

Why buy something sensible with a RWD setup when you can build something really stupid, like this

something isnt right, i think it might just be a coincidence. because all of my other cars(3800s) have had intakes and never had that problem. i will check around with some other buddys and wee if we can get things worked out for you

what kind of pipe did you use? the reason i ask is because back in the day i used some shit pipe from autozone going from the thottle body to the MAF and it i kind of had similar problems (not the tranny) but it turned out that a piece of shit from inside the pipe broke/came off and got stuck and my throttle body. but i also got codes up the ass on my DIC as well. when i figured it out it was a big !?omg wtf im why did i buy the cheap shit!? type of deal.

-but another thing i wanted to add was it might be more efficient to not run the CAI into your fender. because the more bends and turns the pipe/tube makes the more your getting away from being an actual CAI as well. i dont know how the climate is by you but if its not extremely hot, you mine as well just run a big K&N cone off a short (4") pipe off your MAF. it will deff. be alot louder than your fender. and you will slightly increase performance as well.

actually I just took the 4" pipe and giant cone off to put it in the fender. Im using a straight 3 1/2" pvc. The only bends I have is a 45 degree out of the fender and about a 15 degree at the tb. It actually has given me a noticable improvement in performance...idk how...and the s/c is alot louder. I live in Texas and today it was in the 80s, so climate is an issue. Im in the process of fabbing a scoupe to come out the bottom of the fender, by the air splitter, so itll have tons of fresh air coming in.
