i no some one that is parting out their GXP and i made an offer for the seats.. i have the chance to get them but my concern is my car is an 06 and these seats are coming out of an 05 GXP.. will there be any issues with the driver side electical? will the power seating still work?

The Driver side seat will be a direct swap, However the passenger seat will have an issue due to lacking the passenger airbag weight sensor.

I have never done it but it may be possible to swap the internals from your old seat over to the 05 gxp seat and have it work.

oh ic..do i need the airbag sensor or will the thing keep beeping if its not there

It will ding to gladly remind you :)

The airbag light on the speedometer will be on, and the dic will say service airbags.

Most Airbag codes disable some or all of the airbag system as well so it's important to do it right than wrong.

Also the 05 seats arnt dark black like your 06 should have so youd be better off waiting for a set from an 06 or higher if that matters to you as well.

there the greyish colour arent they? i didnt get to see them in person yet so ill decide from there but yep i do want it right i dont want anything thw wrong way hopefully its not hard

Anything from an 06 GXP and up or any grand prix 06 and up will swap with no problems both electrically and cosmetically.

my airbag sensors were on too when i did my seat swap. I just tried unplugging the battery, and its stayed off ever since.

sounds good im going to try and find a 06+ GXP to get the seats. Thanks mike for the info about dark black seats iv seen what they look like and i want the dark black so much nicer, hopefully i can find someone else parting out there GXP but i am going to grab the rear bumper off this guy thats for sure =P

No problem, Finding some will probably just require keeping an eye out and also calling yards all around.
Maybe you would even find someone looking to get rid of the gxp seats to get the regular full leather seats.

Some people prefer the regular leather due to being easy to keep clean.

There are also different connectors in the 05 seats due to the change in lumbar (4-way to 2-way); the connectors are different.

Why can't you just swap the seat skins from the GXP seat do yours?
