2007 GT. I had the gurgling noise behind my dash... most noticably under accelration. Read the post all over the place about air being in the system, so I tried to bleed it out. Took a few times, but finally got it out by parking on a hill. Drove it for a week (few hundred miles) and never noticed the noise since then.

The next week a new car wash was offering the deluxe was for free, so I stopped by, waited in the line for awhile, and got my free $12 dollar automatic car wash. After leaving the gurgling noise is back... and really bad?

Any ideas on this correlatiion, or is it just pure coincidence? Why would the gurgling going away after opening the bleeder valve and then start back up after a car wash?

FYI: I don't have any water in the floorboard and my wiper cowl air intake part is not broken.

Check your coolant level. My car did this, and I added coolant and it went away.

You probably bled the system well, but not completely. Like webby said, it probably just gurgled it's last pocket out, and then your coolant level dropped a bit more in the overflow.. Top it off again, probably fix the problem. It's an annoying noise, so I agree, frustrating.

A few years back, mine sounded like a toilet flushing in an opposing room.. Makes you feel good about your car when toilet sounds emit from it, haha.

I have had various degrees of this throughout the past year or so, since I put in the new tsat. I bled it myself and still had the problem. Had a shop flush the system and bleed it. Still heard it. Brought it back had them do it again, went away for a few months.

My advice to you is if you dont like the various sounds your car is making, and its running fine.....turn the music up! lol

Typical noise really. Most of the time it just means there is air still trapped in the radiator gurgling out the overflow tank. If it continues for a long time, you may need to get it completely flushed or, dare I say it, something could be wrong with a hose or the radiator itself.

I remember when I had this issue for the longest time to quickly figure out there was a pin needle sized hole on the underside of the lower hose when I first got my car. Replaced the hose, bled out as much air as I could, and it was all good again.

And Damnir's reply made me chuckle : P

My understanding is that you need to bleed the heater core.

My 2004 is currently doing this.

I will try to fill the rad with the fill point higher than the heater core and with the heat on full - add some fluid.

I'll post up if this helps.

My 04 has made that noice before as well. It ended up being low coolant due to a leak from the water pump. Fixed the leak no more noise.
