I am wondering if anyone has used a GM Tech 2 to scan for knock retard and what were your results? I was using one today to scan for KR and it showed 0 degrees of KR the entire time. Wondering if I should trust it because it's a GM specific scan tool and can read more lines of data or should I be skeptic of my results? I have a 2004 gtp comp g running a 3.6 pulley, ZZP box tune, ZZP catless DP and 180 thermostat.

I wouldn't worry about it,provided there's nothing wrong with the scanner.

Ive used it a few times to check for KR. To me it will be the most accrete scanner. Ive seen other after market scanners read codes wrong. I know my aeroforce told me I had a miss fire on a cyl that I really didn't have a miss fire on. But with the tech 2 it showed the right cyl (chipped a piston and plug was crushed).

It was weird though because I used a OTC Genisys to do an initial scan and was getting 1-2 at WOT. But then I remembered that we had a Tech 2 so when I hooked that up I had 0 at WOT. But I know the Tech 2 is functionally properly because I dropped down to a 3.4 and am now getting 1-2 occasionally. Haven't hooked up the Genisys to see what it reads.

should read the same. KR can change depending on weather, load, weight, how the damn car feels lol
