My "insider" () at Delphi who also has a 7th-gen GP contacted me a little while ago saying that there was a "fix" from GM for the water flooding into the HVAC blower motor from the passenger windshield cowling. I also learned that, theoretically, >= '06 GP's came with this insert from the factory (however I have not confirmed this). I picked up two of these from my local GM dealership for literally < $5 each. Installation, from start to finish, took less than five minutes and, in the end, if your GP has one of the "rubber strips" already in place to try and prevent water from entering the blower motor assembly, that "rubber strip" was not re-used once I installed this plastic... plastic... cover, I guess is a good word for it.

Anyway, since we are all pretty much aware of the "infamous" water-on-the-passenger-foot-well and many, many of us have experienced it to one degree or another, I thought I'd share. The first picture is of the cover its self while the second is of the part number which is on the bottom of the cover.

One of our '04 sprung that leak many years ago, and they installed that piece. Interestingly enough the other '04 still doesn't have the piece, yet it still has never leaked. I wonder why.

Before I knew about any of this, I made my own shield out of the
hard plastic cover from a presentation booklet.

If the dealer ever takes the cowl off and sees my homemade part,
he's gonna say, "WTF?" :)
