No, the rain/high humidity allows electricity to arc easier, thus if the coilpack is cracked, tear in the plug wire, etc, it will allow the electricity to arc to ground easier than actually letting the spark plug arc to to the tip. Remember, during compression, the "distance" in which a spark has to arc is much higher due to higher atom density, so a plug gap of say .06" would be more like the plug trying to arc a half an inch during full compression stroke (not being specific hear just spitballing a number). So if there is a spot in the ignition system that lets the spark arc to ground and is shorter than the distance of spark during compression, it will take it since electricity flows in the path of least resistance, thus a complete misfire.
