S.O.B... on the highway, steering felt tight. Came to a light, cound NOT turn the damn steering
wheel.... just had a new steering rack put in two months ago.

Manhandled it to the office, opened the hood... all belts ok, all pulleys turning. Bottom of the
engine covered in muck. Muck me!

It's in the dealership now... awaiting another big bill.

Damnation.

Man that sucks. I know what its like to steer our cars without power steering and manhandling is an understatement lol.
Hope you get it fixed soon and the bill isn't too large.

Don't worry to much man. I just replaced my pump a few months ago, only cost $50 for the pump, $10 for some fluids, and a $30 core charge. Hopefully it isn't too serious.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, guys, especially the prices, blackspike.

Manhandle  : at speed, it felt okay. I guess there's not too much boost going on at highway speeds. However,
the slower I went, the more effort it took to turn the wheel. When I got to the dealer, I had to come to a
complete stop since I was making a left into their lot and had to wait for oncoming traffic.

When the coast was clear, I almost couldn't make the turn into their driveway. Almost hit the parked car
that was just beyond the entrance. Then, once I was in their lot, I just pulled straight ahead and left it in
the middle of their outdoor sales area (by the X). I didn't want to try to navigate through the rows of new cars
to the service area (where the arrow is.)

I told them to send their strongest 'service advisor' out to pull it into the lift.

I'll report back with the damages. :???:

Dealer just called.... a piece from the new steering rack broke off, went through the
pipes and hosed the power steering pump.

GM is replacing it all for free...

Once in a while, you win one! Yay for me!

Glad it worked out for you, that could have been costly just cause it was the dealership
