To All: Need Help before I go to dealer or mechanic:
This is in regards to 2004 GP GT2 with 60,000 miles
(1) Went for the annual registration inspection sticker today...results failed inspection
(2) The safety inspection was OK
(3) What failed was the "OBD" On-Board Diagnostic Test
(4) The report shows OBD Communication result = Fail/ In other words the OBD could not communicate
with the test equipment..
(5) The guy doing the test probed around in the fuse panels and told me power is not getting to the OBD connector
thus its unable to link with his test equip so he can perform the emissions test.
(6) Has anybody heard of this type of problem and know what it is ?
(7) If so can this be an easy fix at home/or this a dealer problem.?
(8) I also noticed if this helps/ I installed over a year ago a glow shift elect volt/and elect oil pressure gauges/ they were hooked up to the fuse panel with those add circuit extensions/both gauges stopped working a while back but I passed inspection last year. So i don't know if this contributes to the problem or not/also this gauges are still connected and still don't work..
(9) Any thoughts on what the problem is with OBD ???

Check for a burnt fuse, specifically the onstar fuse or cigerette lighter fuse. I forget which one the obd port uses.

Even if you dont have onstar there will still be an onstar fuse.
