That hurts to look at, and it's one of my worst fears when driving my GP, since I live near water company property where the Bambis run rampant.

She's at the bodyshop right now.. Guess i'll be putting the Inferno hood on this year, since I've waited two years to paint it. =P

If the insurance is paying make sure they put an OEM bumper that actually has the pontiac symbol unless you prefer the shaved look.

Im fighting with my insurance after my wreck to replace the front and back bumpers with OEM and OEM exhaust since they want to stick an aftermaerket exhaust with a normal pipe.

a 12,000 dollar repair in all on mineso I can predict they want to take the cheapest route.

Yeah, I've asked the repair shop a few questions about the OEM stuff, says they will try and use aftermarket, or, offer me used OEM items from the scrapyard (the insurance, that is). I'll get in their face about it, the car is/was immaculate for being 8 years old, especially the mileage. I won't worry about it until I hear back and find out what they want to do.

Exactly the issue here, the hood and fender I couldnt really fight.

But the bumpers and exhaust I have a valid argument that because aftermarket companies cant put "Pontiac" on the bumpers...This would not be putting me in the same place as before the crash.

And well the exhaust aftermarket couldnt replicate the tips, But yeah wait until you hear and then fight it out :).

I have had my rental car for 5 weeks, and will have for at least another two on the insurance companies tab at around 50 bucks a day...

If they would have written my car off I would have probably got a check for 14500 taxes in after negotiations.

because they didnt total it well its 12,000 in repairs plus in excess of 2200 for the rental, not sure where the adjusters mind was the day they decided to repair. lol

Cars a 2006 GT, same color as yours too.

Aw man, that's depressing. I don't pay for rental insurance since I have another car. It'd be nice to be driving around in a different set of wheels for a while just for variety's sake. Sorry to hear things are taking so long, for all I know, my fate will be the same. It is that time of the year where similar accidents are coming in, left and right.

Crap man that sucks. I know all about the deer out here in Ontario, fixed a few cars that have had run-in's with them.

LOL, hey man, that's the wife's car, and it's been reliable! She hasn't had to do anything to it for over 2 years. I shall not complain about the SHITFIRE.

I was advised today that the initial look at the car reveals no frame damage (I already knew this).

So, just waiting to see what we are going to do.. I'll need new horns, A/C condenser and a bunch of odds and ends. I'll almost certainly be getting my SE rockers painted as well... Might try and push for a rear end touch-up too.

I feel your pain. A deer ran into my GP about two years ago while I was going 55 mph (yes, it ran into me). In addition to what you've got, my driver side fender was toast (the initial point of impact), and I had a giant hole in the middle of my windshield. The deer ended up going over the top of car....there were hoof marks on the roof and rear passenger quarter panel. I thought they would total it, but the insurance paid to have it fixed.

There was one on there, it broke off from the impact and I ran it over. It got stuck in my downpipe area, so I had to run it over a few more times to get it out before it caught fire. I'll be getting another new one. I have an extra laying around just in case something like this happened, but wasn't going to be insurance related.

Once I got the transmission rebuilt properly, there were no more issues. I haven't really posted anything at all, except for little tidbits in the turbo section.

Adjusters take forever around here, or is that EVERYWHERE? Suppose to find out what's going on and being offered on Tuesday. Will it happen? I doubt it.

That sucks man...

Did the intercooler take any damage? That's one of my fears with a front end impact.

The few times that I've had to deal with insurance, the adjuster was out there within a couple of days...Maybe them having to pay for a rental car helps to encourage them!

If it sucks- Threaten to switch to another company. It usually works
