Don't be so sure. The mechanic who repaired by LIM gaskets about two years ago put gasket sealant on them. It still leaked at the joint to the LIM.

Only reason I can think of that it would still leak if they were new LIM gaskets is if he put the gasket sealant on wrong or something else wrong.

Just to be clear, he put the sealant on the coolant elbows, not the actual LIM gaskets (except in the corners on the ends). I'm not sure that what I wrote made that point or not.
