To all: Owner 04 GP GT2 with 60,000 miles

(1) The good news-Had prev posted about failing state inspection for No Power in OBDII connector....the good news-- pass the inspection- got power 15V DC- they were able to do the Emissions test Found out it was the ONSTAR/DCL link fuse was blown in the drivers side fuse panel (see owners panel for location if you ever have this problem..to all that suggested the fuse ---Thanks to all --save a trip to dealer/mechanic...

(2) The bad news--Check Engine light came on---I have had this problem before, usally its the gas cap-I would make sure the gas cap would click 4-5 times-- and after few days of driving the light would go away. According to the Owners manual- if CK ENG Light comes on and its steady (not flashing) it indicates an Emissions problem. The light been on about several days and just took out my car and put 100 Miles on it today-CHECK ENG Light is still on.

(3) My Question is: Anybody know or have any idea what is wrong....is it jsut a warning message that maybe your car needs serv at 60,000 miles? or is it oxygen sensor problem ?????? Help is appreciated
Thanks TP

Take the car to an auto parts store and get the code pulled. It's not a service reminder, but we can't help you unless you get the code. A CEL being considered an "emissions" problem = 1000 different possibilities, and doesn't really narrow anything down other than it involves the engine.... who would have guessed?

change the t-stat, it is a cheap and easy part to replace and see what happens. If you still throw a code replace the sensor and either way check and make sure your coolant is topped off and not too dirty. I would say probably a good time to flush they system and replace with fresh green stuff too.

Is there any coolant leak visible under the hood? like pooling up anywhere or anything like that?

(2) Did noticed Rad cap had that brown crud around the cap...cleaned the rad cap and aslo cleaned the expansion container..
The dex cool coming out of engine was clean no brown crud..added more dex cool and bleeded the air out of the coolent system..no further issues...
