I know this has become a common issue with these models, but my 04 GP has the check engine light on and the screen on dash says to check gas cap, car sometimes stalls a little when i come up to a stop, and i sometimes have to give the car gas to get it started. now i know its not really the gas cap, i replaced it, and the diagnostic test said it was a large leak in evap system. has neone had this same problem and if so can you give me and idea of whats really wrong and what im looking at (price-wise) to get the issue resolved. THNX

Chances are it's the Evap canister solenoid.
GM Part number #25932569, it's like 20 bucks.

2 Threads that will help. The first one shows where it's located.

If you read the code (free at Autozone) it's a P0449. Change the evap solenoid, disconnect the betery for 20 mins and you'll be good to go. For me, it was easily done by lifting the car, removing the rear driver's side wheel and wheel iner and all was accessible without getting under the car. The liner removes in 5 minutes or less. Good luck.
