Don't bother rebuilding a short block for an XP cam setup.
Just run that shit, until it blows up... then get another junkyard motor.

Was just about to say..hope your building the tranny but looks like you covered that. Just like Andrew stated don't rebuild the block just save it incase you need it down the road. W/ a XP setup you should be aight.

Yeah don't blow the money pistons and rods, just get a full size intercooler to get you to your power goals

Just keep in mind that chasing HP numbers is like chasing that hot girl from High school and then you find out she has the clap and you're disappointed

Check the crosshatching on the cylinder walls in the rear bank. Its probably fine, but if you want, you can always rehone the block yourself.

L32 pistons and rods are cheap IIRC.

since its an Iron block/heads, it should be alright as far as the deck goes.

How do the heads look? Maybe give them a good cleaning, check for cracks and do some homebrewed porting yourself, freshed up that block, drop in OEM rods/pistons with some new bearings, I would reuse your old S/c personally, just replace the coupler if you haven't already. Slap the XP cam in, double chain it with some 105s, mount a full size intercooler and bam you'll have your numbers or close to them on a good tune.

Exactly what he said^

If you want replace the cam bearings.

Guys... the block was damaged from the chipped pistons. Needed to largen the cylinder walls to remove the grooves and all. Then this requires larger pistons and/or rings. No more "dont worry about the block" stuff. There wasnt much choice and its already been done. Yeeha.
