I'm trying to disassemble some aftermarket headlights to use the lenses on my stock housings as the cheap ebay type headlights apparently all have total crap light output. I got the lens off of one of the aftermarket ones, but there's black sticky glue all over the place. Any tips on getting it off? It's sticky when cold as well as hot, and doesn't just roll/wipe off.

No. That won't work for butyl tape. All you need to do is apply heat to it to make it pliable and roll it off with your finger. A hair dryer will do or stick it in the oven for a few minutes.

If you can get the lenses off of those you might as well do a projector retrofit in those housings!

It's actually glue on the aftermarket headlights, and the adhesive remover worked. Now I just have to pull apart the stock ones and swap the lenses. Should heating the stock ones in the oven work to take them apart as well? What should I use to seal them up again when I put them back together?

^ If there Oem headlights they will be a b**** to open but you can bake them in the oven around 350 degrees for around 15 mins. Seal them with 3m windo weld ribbon sealer (advanceautoparts) apply it around the edges of the headlights. Bake it and then attach the lense on it. Get some clamps and clamp the lights together for a day or even a few hrs (enough time for sealer to seal. Go back over the edges with some black rtv silicon if needed.
