 They aint fixin this one, got in a wreck tonight on the highway...some dumb kid in a 3000gt came over and hit my drivers rear 1/4(Like a police pit), spun around, I whacked into a truck and then hit the wall at 60mph..Airbag deployed..GPs a tank I got to admit, I came out of the wreck fine, just shaken up. The kid admitted to the cops he hit me, which helps. I'm kind of hope i'm not screwed on the car, I owe $9,000 and the kbb retail is $10,000.. Still, I don't have the best credit so getting another car is gonna be a bitch. Heres 2 pics, there's actually more damage on the drivers side and my back window shattered and the car died when I hit the wall and wouldn't start.

Na, it still looks repairable. I've seen GPs in a junk yard before and they had WAY more damage!!!

omg man, im really sorry to hear this. Really glad that you're okay though, even though what you're feeling right now really sux it's much better to still be alive to feel than not at all. I can't believe what these cars can handle sometimes, just goes to show that a 4 door boat like a GP is always better than a lil 2 door roadster like an RX-8 or a Solstice or something when it comes to wrecks......let us know how everything goes, hope that kid ends up having to buy you a new car for his stupidity and carelessness. My thoughts are with u man.... RIP GP

idk, I highly doubt them fixing.

besides the damage shown the rear drivers 1/4 is messed up, the rear door is messed up, the rear windshield shattered, the airbag deployed, the only parts without damage are the front doors

wow, whats with all the GP's being wrecked lately...

And yeah, good luck with the $$ issue.. KBB is doubtfully 10K, as mine with 103K miles is only at 4500 now (insurance companies go off of the POOR estimate..[around here anyway]) after Pontiac closed.. and if you owe 9K on it, you'll be lucky to see 5K from the insurance. BUT hopefully I am wrong, and things work out better for you..

That's where GAP insurance hopefully comes in play ;-)

I know right!? With all these GP's wrecking, the insurance companies will boost every owners insurance if it keeps up at the pace it is! My coworker has an Evo IX and his insurance is constantly going up because of dumbass people wrecking em!

As for the insurance payoff, I know for a fact GEICO doesn't go off of KBB values. They have an independent company go out and research similar condition models and how much they've been selling for. They then average out the data and make an estimate of how much the claimant should be reimbursed. My Ex actually received about $1000 more than she expected because of this.

Hmm.. I was told last week that GP's haven't been going for much at auctions around here, that's why you can pick up a 08 GT for like 7-8k now, here anyway.

I go to auctions and it's not that cheap. We've got an 07' on the lot for 10,500 with like 45k miles though.

GEICO is f**king useless.................they only gave me $4100 for my GTP last week.( after I bought it back) They go by the NADA value....but they average between the actual value and the trade in value. I have no clue why the trade in value has anything to do w/ it.....but i guess its so they can pocket more $$ for themselves. I had this argument w/ the regional guy in charge here in WNY.......for about 20 minutes....and thats what he told me.....so once I get the other GTP i'm getting soon....I'm switching companies....and then ill add my GTP i have now on to the new policy in the spring when its all fixed and comes back out from storage. I'm probably going back to Progressive..........i used to have them...they were expensive but they actually valued my 93 GP SE coupe high enuf that they fixed it when i hit a 6 pt buck that did $2300 in damage to it 3 years ago.

I learned the hard way......you get what you pay for. And now I know.

There already totaled it, I'm having my insurance pay me and they are going after the guys insurance to reimburse. I have progressive which rocks, the guy had some shitty insurance company United Mutual or something. The guys insurance tried to call me tell me I need to wait until they give me money and my insurance can't do anything....I laughed and said yeah right, my insurance will give me more then you will. Please call them.

Glad to see you are alright, Hope you were wearing the seatbelt. This car took a good hit, and I know after a hit like that I wouldn't want them to fix it. I hope your situation works out, Money is tight for everyone and it wasn't your fault. I wish you the best of luck.

I'm sorry to hear about your car, at least you didn't get hurt so that's the main thing. I see my brackets and bar withstood the crash, don't forget to remove them if they will let you.
