I see you liked my idea of removing the "Pontiac" from the bumper :)

I gotta say I envy that you have access to a shop and do your own work. I've been needing a paint job REALLY badly.

Yea... I have thought about it for awhile then you said something and then the guys i work with said something and well i finally cracked and said screw it and did it, Dont get me wrong its alot of work to get that bumper to where it is now. I made alot of transitions which some people might not notice. I also shaved the 04 key hole on the trunk...so out of place!

dam open up a pair of headlights and paint them like mine too! (before and after shot)
Image

I've had the side shirts from the SE package for a while now off to the side cuz I don't have the money to paint them...
Image

I tried to paint them, but it came out crappy. I put on the SE rear only cuz I wanted it on so bad and it didn't look all that bad. I still really need to be professorially done.

6K.. wow, I'm glad I don't live where you do.

I got a quote from my shop I go to for everything of just over $2800 to paint the car orange like yours with door jambs and engine bay included. Lesenol paint and a house of kolor flake mixed with it

Looks amazing, James. Definitely jealous  I LOVE that color, whatcha gonna call it? It IS your own special choice/blend of paint, it's only right you think of a name for the color....

I'm just saying that's what it would be because of everything done. It is a huge process with out the engine bay. Does that include detriming everything?m as far as the color name I'm not sure yet

did you drive the car around without the doors, bumpers, hood, and trunk on?

you should go to the 1/4 mile strip now with all that weight loss, you'll be running 12s LOL

Nice job so far

It's coming along nicely, I love the color. Why didn't you spray the hood when you painted the whole car?

You guys are nuts. What kind of body work costs that much for f*ck sake! When I had my Nissan, pictures are on gpona somewhere, they shaved both my bumpers, molded them on, and sideskirts also, and shaved both body lines, and that was $800 Then I brought it to the paint shop I go to and had them spray it the color I wanted for another $900

I'll have to dig out pictures (non digital) of my Neon that I had, when they repainted it multi colored, and custom... Cost me just over $1500.. De-trimming, IDK, I'll have to look at the pics close if I can find them..

I'm not here to compare prices. But you will never catch me doing what I did for under 6k. Quality comes with a price. Not saying your cars weren't nice its just industry standards. The reason we didn't paint the Hood nor the bumpers is no room in the Booth and they weren't ready.

Either way, the car's coming out very nice.. can't wait to see some pics of it in the sun when it's done.

And the only reason I think prices are lower here, is I live in "small town WI" .. we still have body shops that charge $48/hr for labor. :D
